With Moon at 14:49 Capricorn, Venus is retrograde into Taurus, where Venus will conjunct with Sun on June 8th. Venus the star of harmony and refinement is in the 5th lunar manison, "the searching star" (1).
"The searching star" marks the "beginning of a search". The ruling planet is Mars, reflecting the spiritual warrior searching for truth."(1)

While astrological conjunctions of Sun and Venus occur regularly, the astronomical event Venus transiting Sun, passing across the disc of the Sun as seen from Earth, is a rare event. On June 8, 2004 the astrological conjunction is coincident with the astronomical transit.
The June 8, 2004 event is the first since 1882.

As for me I am experiencing Rahu aspecting my natal Sun. As of today, Rahu has closed to within 14 minutes of it's 5th house aspect being exact to my natal Sun.
Desiderata has for some thirty plus years been one of my favorite inspirational writings. Today in response to a message from my sister it came to mind. I have a copy held by a magnet on the refrigerator. Wanting to relate it to my sister immediately, I did an Alta Vista search and found this link. Desiderata. Though you may already be familiar, please take the time to visit this link.

Though many students of the topic, the time of Jesus the Christ's birth, have found that it was more likely March than December, it is during this time of rites and celebrations marked by the winter solstice that the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated. Christmas, derived from Christ's Mass, Mass of Christ, or the mass to celebrate Christ's birth was said to be placed at that time of year to provide altenrative to the many non-christian rites and celebrations, marked in the northern hemisphere, by the beginning of return of the Sun.
There is another astronomical event reported as a thread of story of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the appearance of a star, or luminous heavenly body, that informed and guided the Three Wise Men to the birth of the king. The link above leads to an article that lends to the inquiry of the birth of Jesus.
