Notes on Notes

The positions of the Celestials, New Moon and Full Moon are calculated using Junior Jyoitsh Version 1.09. Junior Jyotish is wriiten by Brian Conrad, and is freeware available at www.jyotishtools.com. The time of day charts are generated using Astrolog 5.40 for Windows, freeware written by Walter D. Pullen, available at www.astrolog.org.
Celestial positions are sidereal. Celestial positons, rise and set times are from the perspective of Cleveland, Ohio - Longitude 81W36, Latitude 41N29, unless otherwise specified.

During periods of Daylight Savings Time, times given in these notes are given in Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT). EDT equals Greenwich Mean Time minus 4 hours (GMT-4). When Daylight Savings time is not in effect, times are given in Eastern Standard Time (EST). EST equals GMT-5. Cleveland, Ohio begins Daylight Savings Time the first Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday in November.

Astronomical Applications Department are given in Universal Time, denoted UT.
For assistance with symbols of signs and celestiais see Reading Your Chart. You will need to download and install the Jyotish font to display the symbols. The symbol for Moon is E . If the letter E is displayed, you should install the Jyotish font.
