Dear Friends and Supporters of MoCADA:
We are honored to invite you to the opening of one of our most politically charged exhibitions on Thursday, February 28th from 6-9pm. The title of the exhibition is Dread Scott: Welcome to America (Brooklyn artist). It covers important issues from the War in Iraq to issues of police misconduct. Given the increase in noose hangings, escalated police shootings, rise of incarceration rates, 'nappy headed hoe' comments and a plethora of other issues challenging the principals that America was founded upon, we believe that this is a timely exhibition to give the community an opportunity to discuss these critical issues through the medium of the visual arts. This is one of the most important exhibitions of the year and certainly one that you won't want to miss.
With warmest regards,
Laurie A. Cumbo |
